In The Colors is a story of personal transformation: A journey from the shadows to finding new love, with time, patience, and friendship guiding the way. This record was written and recorded just moments before our world held its collective breath, and these songs tell a story dotted with painful lessons, reluctant hopefulness, and surrender.

This record serves the soil from which grew Echo Magic, my production team and record label. A common language of music alchemized with a bit of good timing has branched into a canopy of friendships, collaboration, family, community, and creative encouragement. The making of In The Colors was a haven from both past and future; industry and politics. An insular and vivid moment in time.

Vinyl will be shipped at a later date, as soon as they are pressed.

Feels Like I’m Falling Brendan Willing James, Syd Sidney, Daniel Wright I’m a stranger from out of town Just setting my wheels down Favorite line of mine is see you around Strange that it feels like I’m falling in love Get a quick romance in But never take a whole night A bird in flight again Chasing a dream Strange that it feels like I’m falling in love So strange that I feel This change that I feel It’s strange but I feel like I’m falling in love Sending pictures from airports Calling you when I can Long exposures In a distant land Strange that it feels like I’m falling in love So strange that I feel This change that I feel It’s strange but I feel like I’m falling in love So strange how I feel So strange that it feels like I’m falling in love You won’t catch me stealing kisses I know this time I’ll stay Every morning is a holiday Strange that it feels like I’m falling in love So strange that I feel This change that I feel It’s strange but I feel like I’m falling in love

Easy Mistake 03:26
Easy Mistake Brendan Willing James, Syd Sidney, Daniel Wright Is it gonna be worth it? Isn’t there an easier way? Do I really wanna die for it? On the road to feel happy Ain’t nowhere to be Do really wanna try for it? Oooh I love an easy mistake But a heart won’t learn If a heart don’t break Oooh I never know til it aches A heart won’t learn If a heart don’t break Steady worshipping Getting high on despair Would have given both lungs for the air So devotional Keeping flies in a cage Couldn’t tell me there were holes in it Oooh I love an easy mistake But a heart won’t learn If a heart don’t break Oooh I never know til it aches A heart won’t learn If a heart don’t break Oooh I love an easy mistake But a heart won’t learn If a heart don’t break I turn the lights out In a room full of rakes A heart won’t learn If a heart don’t break No a heart won’t learn If a heart don’t break

Curveball 05:33
Curveball Brendan Willing James, Syd Sidney, Daniel Wright Curveball I didn’t see it coming I was standing there looking like I saw the strike But never thought to swing Trust fall Thought I felt you breathing Are you staying? Are you leaving? Or just playing out the string Love begins like an echo in my heart Always almost gone before it starts Until I sing like a wheel That’s worn down to the steel How will I ever know it’s real? New York I lost you in the lights You were shadow I was night We were never gonna change Love begins like an echo in my heart Always almost gone before it starts Until I sing like a wheel That’s worn down to the steel How will I ever know it’s real? Curveball You always keep me guessing You were meant to make a mess Of all the things I know Leave me feeling strange Love begins like an echo in my heart Always almost gone before it starts Until I sing like a wheel That’s worn down to the steel How will I ever know it’s real?

Ashtray 02:47
Ashtray Brendan Willing James and Daniel Wright I made a mistake In the name of love It’s time to start over Beaten by change The danger is strange I’m already seeing the end I crave highways Headlights on roads I’d trade my ways For an old car with a bench and an ashtray Do you ever get tired of starting again, Looking for You? I get so tired of starting again And looking for you A face in the crowd Can this be what love is all about? I crave highways Headlights on roads I’d trade my ways For an old car with a bench and an ashtray Love is a letter I’m meaning to send But it blows in the wind And falls right off the end Living the shadow Needing a friend It’s the same old story again I crave highways Where life’s unfolding I’d trade my waves For an old car with a bench and an ashtray For an old car with a bench and an ashtray

Waters Rising Brendan Willing James, Syd Sidney, Daniel Wright Head in the clouds Feet on the ground I didn’t notice The waters rising Won’t make any plans I’ll trust in my hands To keep bailing The water’s rising Most will call this the end Be peaceful and then You’ll be free While the waters rising People say that I’m crazy I’ll never make it It’s written on the wall How can I reply It don’t matter much Cuz I’m not afraid to fall Not afraid to fall I’ll keep dancing I’ll keep that love in my heart I just laugh as the waters rising They say just give up There’s no easy way up It’s all over The waters rising People say that I’m crazy I’ll never make it It’s written on the wall How can I reply It don’t matter much? Cuz I’m not afraid to fall Not afraid to fall

Your Light 04:26
Your Light Brendan Willing James, Syd Sidney, Daniel Wright I wish the world was kind And you a peaceful mind Guess you’ll find another world To live in You and your new religion Your selfish inquisition I miss the friend That died with your ambition I surrender I see your light now I see your light now I surrender I see your light now I see your light now Remember how it was? Afternoons in Oz... Not a chance we’d ever change But we did We were just kids I surrender I see your light now I see your light now I surrender I see your light now I see your light now I got nothing left to say I’m sure the pain will fade away You’ll go there And I’ll stay here Forgiven Forgiven Forgiven
